Bio
Aminka Belvitt is an international speaker, innovator, humanitarian, mentor and thought leader. She believes in empowering and advancing women and marginalized people as solution creators for the UN 17 Global Goals and agents of change in their communities.
She leads The ForUsGirls Foundation, founded in 2015, a Canadian-based international social purpose organization providing innovative, skills-building, and leadership development programs, mentorships and scholarships for Black girls, young women, and gender-diverse radicalized young people.
Aminka is also a Black woman in tech, as the Founder & CEO of Wofemtech Solutions Inc., a web and video conferencing platform launched in 2020 based in Waterloo, ON. In 2019 Ms.Belvitt was recognized as a Goalkeeper by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Entrepreneur of the Year by the Canadian Consulate in New York City and by the YWCA Montreal.
Since 2016, she has been a UN Women Champion of Change, One Young World Ambassador and Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum. Through her work with her charity, she has impacted over 10,000 young women and girls across Canada, the United States and Jamaica.
Aminka Belvitt is a professionally trained business & marketing strategist and technical project manager. In addition, to her philanthropy, she works as a Senior Consultant with her Equitable & Innovative Leadership consulting firm, A&B Consulting Inc.
Aminka was born in Trelawny, Jamaica, grew up in Kitchener, Ontario and was educated both at the University of Ottawa (Public Administration & Political Science) and Concordia University (Public Affairs & Public Policy & Community Development) and received a professional development diploma from Columbia University Business School in 2017.
She believes empowering women and girls with the right resources and opportunities can create the solutions they need for their communities and the world.
